Whats im my bag for thailand and cambodia this time
Friday, September 23, 2011 at 6:59PM So I've decided that my kit for this trip to thailand and cambodia will be much smaller than my normal photo kit. It consists of a fuji x100, 1 nikon speedlight for off camera strobist stuff, 2 pocket wizard plus 2s, an umbrella box like I use for weddings and a monopod for attaching the strobe and umbrella box to.

It just got too heavy and I dont enjoy using the big 5dmk2 with a 24-70 in the street, its also too intimidating and when your trying to blend in in asia with a red beard and freckled skin the last thing you need is a black expensive thing attached to your forehead. It makes people act different.
I do have some mini assignments for Destiny Rescue, they need some shots for the web and slideshows as well as for some big banners for conferences and such. Luckily I have already tested the x100 in the studio on a shoot with the ten tennors' Boyd Owen. Sharp and nice!
I think ill call this new travel kit my ninja kit. Although I would like fuji to make an x100 200mm for telephoto. I would just carry both cameras because, as you can see the fuji is almost as small as a pocketwizard.
One of the cool factors of the x100 is a 1000th synch speed great for sunny places.
It all fits in a crumpler haven Large which goes inside my ratty old travel satchel for stealth as well.

Ill let you know how it goes, Im more likely to shoot more pictures with this kit I think because of access and convenience, it will also be a test of my creative skills shooting with a prime the whole trip, so lets see.
